Mrs MacDougall’s husband has had a heart attack and needs nursing, so she’s left school until further notice and a new drama teacher is arriving this afternoon. I can’t wait to tell Joyce, screams. Cali, jumping up and down like a five-year-old. I just hope whoever comes is a better teacher than Mrs MacDougall. I’m telling you, Hollywood here I come! What d’you wanna to be when you grow up, Libs?. It doesn’t matter, I sigh, it’s too late now anyway. It’s too late to be a proper violinist and that’s all I’ve ever wanted to be.

is now my favourite book that's not teenage fiction (I read a lot of teenage books and rarely like 8-12 books .
The best thing about this book is that just when you're not expecting it something will happen. Praise for Shine: understands a child's deepest feelings, including the negative ones, and she allows Tiff to run through the gamut of them as she slowly works her way through feelings of abandonment, loneliness, fear and anger, until eventually happiness and love can resurface. Readers will recognise all her thoughts.
For Daniel, Carole, Heather, Louisa, Ruth, James, Sophia, Mala and Joti. For Jayne and Jan who will for ever glitter in my eyes – thank you for so much.

But when Dad loses his job and falls into a deep depression, Liberty’s talent may be the one thing that can save him.
The second stunning novel from the sparkling author of SHINE.
