Husband for Hire by Carla Neggers Probably the best of the three. Rebecca currently has millions of books in print in the United States alone. The Ice Dancers by Rebecca Brandewyne This story was so bad, I couldn't get past chapter one. This is my first RB book and I'm not sure there will be more. I downloaded this book because I've read good reviews mainly of her historical romance. This is a 1990s category romance so it's short (200+ pages) and filled with cliches. The plot is corny - "secret youth formula" and "ingredient X". The author is fond of brand name dropping. The H is 34, h is 29. Heroine is supposed to be a successful business woman, but comes across as an inexperienced, gullible, weak-willed, insecure teen. She's sex/love starved, he's sex starved. What a combo! She seems to like being ordered around. The basis for the marriage of convenience is to keep the hero in the US because the INS threatened to deport him. This is the part I don't understand. The author said he's emigrated and has been working at the company in a top position for quite some time. To me, this would mean he has a green card already. So, marrying the heroine won't do him any good at all. He can't become a citizen overnight and he should still be subjected to deportation orders. Anyways.
I am convinced that any book that has exhibits repetitive word usage of "blush", "flush" "tremble" "shiver" "breathless" "flutter" will immediately clue you into one of those "breathless" cheesy romances, which this is. Yep, the heroine does all of the above whenever the hero looks/talks to her. It's just repetitive filler crap. As is the interminable internal yada yada.

First of all, it wasn't about a petite blonde (yuck!). Secondly, the story was really, really good. I really loved this one.
