Some Kind of Sexy book. magari pure spiritoso.

Some Kind of Sexy book. Invece è un libro piuttosto breve che cerca di mostrare che anche la persona con le convinzioni più solide del mondo può cedere ai sentimenti, almeno con la persona giusta.

Golden Heart Award-winning author Jamie Sobrato fell in love with the romance genre at an early age, when she used to sneak her mother's romance novels off the shelves to read during summer vacations. Originally from Louisville, Kentucky, Jamie is married to her own hunky romance hero, and they are the exhausted parents of two young children.

Forty years ago, the League of Scandalous Women formed for the purpose of intellectual debates, to further women's sexual freedom and to form a creative support group for the progressive thinkers of their time. Juliet Emory's Aunt Ophelia lent her leadership and her home to the group while raising her young niece. Certainly as a child Juliet failed to recognize that her aunt and her friends had been ahead of their time. Now a free thinking adult, Juliet mourns the loss of her aunt. When she finds Aunt Ophelia's diary, she vows to do something scandalous to honor her role model.
A professional party planner, Juliet receives inspiration while planning a birthday party for Cole Matheson. His brothers assure her of Cole's party animal nature, so when the scheduled stripper comes down ill, Juliet steps into the role, fulfilling a wildly daring fantasy. Too much booze and sexual attraction lead Cole to a night in Juliet arms. But his brothers lied. Rather than a party animal, Cole plays conservatively with his sexuality and with his heart. When he wants to get to know the woman he shared the night with, she tries to bolt. Only fast thinking and a white lie will convince this woman to give him a chance, but only truth and steadfastness will get him a chance at forever.
Author Jamie Sobrato excels my expectations of Harlequin's Blaze line in SOME KIND OF SEXY. The role reversal with Juliet seeking a fling and Cole wanting forever provides an interesting plot twist. But Juliet comes across as amazingly convincing and sincere, with a secretly soft center that make her character both bodacious and vulnerable. In many ways, Juliet is the scandalous kind of heroine we all secretly yearn to be. She revels in her sexuality, daringly living her fantasies and vowing to remain single. Conversely, scrumptious hero Cole does not do one night stands. His determination to spend time with Juliet forces compromises with unforeseeably disastrous conclusions. Juliet's assistant, a culinary wizard and lovely gay man, provides a wonderful counterpoint - I would love to see him pop again in a later book! In addition, the subplot sparkles with a mature couple struggling to revitalize their relationship. The forty-year-old Delia was once a scandalous woman herself and will inspire the wild child in all of us. I sincerely hope that Sobrato has more scandalous women waiting in the wings! An absolutely fabulous read, SOME KIND OF SEXY earns the WordWeaving Award for Excellence.
Four months have passed since her beloved Aunt Ophelia passed away, but Juliet Emory still mourns the loss of the woman who raised her. She finds her aunt's diary and though she fears that will tarnish the image of her beloved role model, Juliet needs to hear Ophelia's words. A sheet falls out titled the "Guiding Principles of the League of Scandalous Women", a wonderful reminder of their time together in new Orleans, but this time for her she is seeing the adult side of being a so called "scandalous woman" and plans to live up to her beloved aunt's creed so that Ophelia looking down will smile upon her niece.
The Matheson brothers hire Juliet to perform at a special thirtieth birthday bash for their youngest sibling professor Cole Matheson. Cole hates parties, but at his gala his siblings insist he is not chasing skirts properly so they send Ms. Zorro to raise his libido. Afterward he and Juliet make love though neither believes in one night stands. Soon Cole realizes that she is the one, but how to make Juliet understand that they belong together when he competes with the image that her aunt has left behind for his beloved to emulate.
This is a heated battle of the sexes with a role reversal as she wants a fling and he wants a serious relationship. The two lead subjects' debate over the Theory of Sexual Relativity is a delight and Juliet's discovery of the full person that Ophelia was is cleverly developed so that the audience can see what motivated her aunt (think of Billy Don't Be a hero). SOME KIND OF SEXY is a fabulous contemporary romance.
