Bunch participated in many of the angry, colorful feminist actions of the 60's and 70's . She was there when dissatisfied women took over the offices of the Ladies Home Journal, demanding to be represented; she was in Atlantic City during the disruption of the Miss America pageant. But, unfortunately, her book doesn't even hint at the energy and excrement the women's movement generated in its outrageous, halcyon days. Sociological jargon abounds (Bunch earned her credentials at the Institute for Policy Studies).

Her writings include Passionate Politics: Feminist Theory in Action (NY: St. Martin's Press, 1987); "Preambulo: Abriendo las Copuertas," in Declaracion . Passionate Politics: Essays, 1968–1986: Feminist Theory in Action.

Passionate Politics succeeds admirably both in capturing Bunch’s multifaceted activism and portraying the excitement of the global women’s rights movement over the past half century. Rutgers-Films for the Feminist Classroom. The story is told with empathy and humor, painting an engaging portrait of a remarkable figure. Strongly recommended, a must-see.
