com to book in. Gracias!

Odder than bacon with legs, he oozes with creative zealotry and possesses an indiscriminate passion for life that is contagious  .

This book is a collection of color & monochrome, full page illustrations, sketches and photos from the known Horimasa. His work and his approach to traditional Japanese iconography is amazing. It also includes a 50 full page, full color photo section.

This book includes a wide variety of Japanese traditional tattoo imagery

This book includes a wide variety of Japanese traditional tattoo imagery. it has a little bit of everything. It includes full color, full pages illustrations, complete single line drawings, preliminary sketches and sketches devoted to particularly tricky details, like hands, feet, eyes and claws.

Horimasa, from Gunma, Japan, did a fantastically simple and effective painting of "Okiku" with nice striking reds and blacks. But ultimately the forgettable and the mediocre outweigh the good stuff. All in all, "Okiku" seemed to inspire the best submissions. Crystal Morey had a good idea, and I applaud her efforts. I would have personally liked to have seen more balance between the stories and the art, with an attempt made to tell the stories, not just tell about them

Festival with Horimasa.

This is a collection of illustrations, sketches and photos from Japanese tattoo master, Horimasa. A tebori artist by trade (the traditional Japanese method of tattooing by hand) Horimasa breathes new life into fundamental Japanese tattoo motifs in this compilation. That he's studied the masters of traditional ukiyo-e (woodblock prints) is evident in his work and his approach to traditional Japanese iconography is bold and confident. His lines are incredibly clean and color use is brilliant. This book includes a wide variety of Japanese traditional tattoo imagery. It features a variety of samurai, Gods and Goddesses, oni, goblins, tigers, Hannya, dragons, geisha, koi, foo dogs, animals and insects....it has a little bit of everything. It includes full color, full pages illustrations, complete single line drawings, preliminary sketches and sketches devoted to particularly tricky details, like hands, feet, eyes and claws. It also includes a 50 full page, full color photo section of Horimasa's tattoo work, shot by world renowned photographer Geoff Johnson. This book is nice a big, printed on thick, high quality paper and comes in a cardboard slipcase for protection. It is an amazing resource for anyone interested in traditional Japanese tattooing and imagery.

This book fell apart with the first 2 minutes of looking at the book. The pages were simply falling out of the binding yet looking at the book and its cover it look in immaculate condition. Amazon wanted the book returned at my cost but this was going to cost about $AUS60 what a RORT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gomineko has done a great job with this book. The cool thing about it is that yousee all stages of the design process, from sketches, to finished paintings to completed tattoos. It presents a wide variety of subject matter, and awesome photography. The other thing I like is the book itself. It looks and feels exactly like other , MUCH more expensive reference books I own. Good binding, and a cardboard sleeve with cutout over the title , make it a really nice package. I hope this will be the first of many similar books done by Gomineko.

I can't open up this wonderful book without being inspired to grab my sketchpad and sketch until I've come up with something cool enough to allow me to turn another page. And there it is again, another piece of art just as inspiring and just as awesome as the one preceding. I can't get enough Horimasa! Congrats on the fine work. Looking forward to your next find!

thank you Gomineko books! We look forward to your next release.
amazing illustrations! Vivid and very detailed. The high quality of the paper stock and finish gives a natural feel. And the way the ink sets on the paper really brings it to life. It is obvious that a lot of work went into this book. This book is worth every penny or yen.
