She appeared to have tried all the avenues of opportunity open to her, and had got nowhere. a demo tape, on which she sang ‘Cry Me A River’ and Roberta Flack’s hit ‘Killing Me Softly’. She distributed this CD to a handful of friends, but if it was meant to break down barriers, it didn’t do the trick. Like the Millennium Celebration CD, it is now, of course, a collector’s item, but at the time it didn’t help her make inroads into the record business

The English language is not adequate to describe Susan Boyle's voice and her first terrific album. This book tells the story behind her remarkable rise to stardom. Her angelic voice, discovered on Britain's Got Talent back last spring, is brought to perfection in her first album ranging from pop to religious to show tunes. Boyle's voice is superb--clear, controlled, beautifully projected and all around marvelous. It is nice to read something about her sheltered life as this bombshell hit. Her first album has set all kinds of sales records, and I for one, will buy any album she records in the future. Here's hoping we can see a long line of albums from this lovely lady of Scotland--maybe a collection of only show tunes like Memories, You'll Never Walk Alone, Climb Every Mountain, Some Enchanted Evening, the list goes on. Or, perhaps all religious selections such as Ave Maria, The Lord's Prayer, Panis Angelicus, Oh Divine Redeemer. Anything she sings is bound to be a treat. Her road has not been easy and this book tells it as it was, and is. It is a heart warming story to realize not only does Susan possess a voice out of this world as in angelic, but she is realizing the dream of achieving her life-long ambition of singing to the world. Her life has been truly remarkable, and this book explores beyond the shallow scandal sheets and hot type headlines.
Never let them get you down, Susan, Brava, Sing on forever.

Susan Boyle is amazing and has a great voice. Her stage presence will never be what she would like, but that can be overlooked just to hear her outstanding voice. I would purchase this album again.

I mirrors my own life in relation to school, lack of playmates, low self worth and being shy. I can relate well to her. I've grown up, much less shy,but still have a few issues to overcome. Ms. Boyle's story has given me more confidence to become more outgoing. God Bless Her !

Sister In Law said was great.
She is truly a wonderful songstress and climbed her way to the top. Glad the recognition finally came her way -- it is well-deserved.
