This book gives a brief history of almost every Regiment, battalion and battery in the Confederate Army and State Volunteer units. The exceptions are that some short term militia units are not listed). Each entry states where the unit was organized, any other names they might have been known by, where they served, what battles they fought in, and list their commanding officers.
