This is a review of the kindle version. The text itself is a wonderful staple that every veterinarian should be familiar with. The words are all there. The low rating is due to the kindle version missing many key illustrations. These illustrations are important in trying to really understanding difficult concepts, their absence is a detriment to this resource. Being the 21st century, electronic media should be a priority, this electronic version is a shadow of the print version due to these shortcomings. I am disappointed that this warning is not anywhere in the description.

MUST HAVE for any ER doctor. Acid base stuff is hard, this helps you get through it and deal with your really messed up electrolyte cases. Absolutely pivotal to have on the shelf. Not an easy read, but thorough.

I use this all the time as part of my clinical pathology residency-it's much more readable than most of the other texts because it links the pathophysiology to the observed electrolyte imbalance very clearly. The only problem is that it does stick to the subjects in the title-so some other critical care topics (e.g. bleeding disorders) aren't included...but it's well worth the price for the topics covered. Ideal for vets, vet students and residents with an interest in critical care, anaesthesia or medicine-but maybe not applied enough for most nurses or vet techs.

Great seller!! Undoubtedly this book is a "must" for fluid therapy and the basis of acid-base disorders are well explained. If I have something to say, it could be the hope that in the next edition the acid-base disorders will be extend!

This is a very thorough text and is great for the more complicated cases. A must have for clinic reference
Excellent resource for veterinary students in understanding fluid composition in the body and why you choose certain fluids for resuscitation and maintenance- an absolute must!!
