This volume, therefore, is more narrowly focused geographically than its predecessors and successors, and hardly strays beyond Greece.

The Cambridge Ancient History is a comprehensive ancient history in fourteen volumes, spanning Prehistory to Late Antiquity, published by Cambridge University Press. The Cambridge Ancient History is part of a larger series of works, along with the Cambridge Medieval History and Cambridge Modern History, intended to cover the entire history of European civilisation.

POFOD
The early chapters are outdated and obsolete to an extreme extent, but the rest is exhaustively informative in a Very dry manner. It would have been much better if the: maps and illustrations were available in the Kindle version.

The problem is that this is only Volume 1 Part 2 and Amazon does not seem to have the rest of this series, which is far better than the later series. Viewpoints and evidence considered are interesting. Some of the arguments show their age.
Dellevar
Beware! This is not volume VI of the series, as you may think from the illustration. Rather it is the fairly useless and obsolete 1st volume of the 1928 printing of the Old Edition. Noe of the links work, and it has been poorly transcribed.

Buyers should be aware. This is a reprint of an old text that has a racist premise. It's not that it's filled with racial hatred, it just assumes a racial bias: "...the stage even of ancient history is the whole home of the 'white races,' from the Atlantic coast of Europe to the Persian plateau, from the Sahara to the Baltic; the north-western quadrant of the land-mass of the Old World." This is in chapter one, section two, the first paragraph. It gets worse from here.

This is volume one of twelve original published between 1924 and 1939. Enough said.
