Ronald Hayman was born on May 4, 1932 in East Cliff Hotel in Bournemouth, England, a Jewish hotel which had been founded by his grandmother, Anne Morris. His mother, Sadie, was an administrator at the hotel while his father, John, was in a partnership running an antiques and jewellery business.

Ronald Hayman was born in Bournemouth and grew up in a hotel there. After studying English at St Paul's and Trinity Hall in Cambridge, Hayman went to drama school in London. Then, in his book Hitler and Geli, Hayman explored the remarkable, yet relatively obscure, story of the affair between Adolf Hitler and his young niece Geli Raubal, who died under mysterious circumstances. Some of Hayman's other works include exposes on Samuel Beckett, Harold Pinter and Arthur Miller, and biographies of Sylvia Plath, Jean-Paul Sartre, the Marquis de Sade, and Tennessee Williams.

Ronald Hayman (Author). ISBN-13: 978-0195204346. While other biographies spend time with external events, This book concentrates on Brech and his works. It shows his time in Weimar Germany and through the East Germany. Both his marriages are described. ISBN-13: 978-0804423861. The 13-digit and 10-digit formats both work.
