This book offers excellent insights into what makes the traditional Episcopal Church such a great expression of Christianity and place to worship. Fmr Bp Krum explains his personal journey within the Episcopal Church and what has convinced him that its practices conform to a proper practice of Christianity in line with the traditional, historic and apostolic faith. He explains the sacraments, liturgy, broadness and orgainization of the church. He also discusses the strengths and weaknesses of the church.

This book was written in 1957. I don't know how he would react to the current crisis in the Episcopal Church. It seems that he would be shocked by the institutional diversion from historic Christian doctrine by the church. For Krum, the issue was Anglo-Catholic or Evangelical. In this book, there is no hint of the controversies affecting the church today,except his lamenting the Biblical illiteracy within the Episcopal Church.

I think one has to read this book in light of traditional Anglicanism rather than the Episcopal Church of today. It was helpful for me and offered me a good perspective of the traditional Episcopal church and the form of Anglican worship from which it sprung.
