There is a lot of swearing throughout and having only known Havers portraying posh, charming men on TV and film, this sort of made this read a giggle-fest! But apart from that, this was an interesting read. Nigel Havers, as well as being a gifted actor, is a gifted raconteur. This book is light and entertaining and moves along at a fast pace. Havers comes from a distinguished judical family, and the most interesting part is the beginning, when he speaks of his family. The anecdotes about the Rolling Stones are amusing [his mother applying calamine lotion on buttocks will make you laugh]. The anecdotes become strained towards the end, however. And if you are looking for character growth or self-revelation, this is not the place to find it. Entertaining, but the book could have been so much more.

I found the listen very enjoyable...if brief but the ending was absolutely shockingly a "cliff hanger" sort of...without the book it would be even more irritating.
