Libby Purves loves radio and anybody who loves the medium will enjoy this book. It's autobiographical but not an autobiography. It focuses solely on Libby's life with radio: from building her own transistor set to hosting flagship Radio Four programmes Today and Midweek. Libby's delight with sound, and particularly voices - is unmistakable. This book is not a history of radio nor is it a manual or how-to guide

One Summers Grace a Family Voyage Round.

How the brilliant son I lost to suicide still talks to me: Radio 4 star Libby Purves' son took his life at 23. Her TV presenter husband tells how he tried to heal his broken heart on an epic sea voyage to the ends of the earth. Paul Heiney's son Nicholas had been an expert and dedicated sailor. To feel closer to him, Paul decided to trek to Cape Horn, at the southernmost tip of South America, in 2006. The remote and inhospitable area is the ultimate seafarer’s destination

Crystaellic says: All I can say is, this book is truly extraordinary! It honestly contains so many things that normally annoy the hell out of me in books and yet it still managed to make me love it.

Willow Aster st for that alone it deserves a serious slow clap.
