This book provides a good, general chronological overview of the Pacific War, but it just isn't detailed enough to be effective as a reference book, which is what I was hoping for when I purchased it. The book's entries usually read something like, "April 2, 1942: US Army Air Force B-17 flying Fortress bombers attack the Japanese fleet around the Andaman Islands.
