The book was only okay, not in any great depth. A decent overview of WWII naval aviation, but nothing original. Great descriptions of the naval battles from Pearl Harbor on. You will not be able to put this book down until you finish. Could have used more in depth analysis of doctrine, plans in place at the start of the war, evolution of those plans, how carrier loses and plane strength/weakness along with other factors (code breaking, pilot training and replacement, manufacturing, et. shaped the strategies of the belligerents.
