No spoilers in this review, so feel safe to read this without hesitation. This was the second best book in the series to me, second only to the 2nd book, The Frost Giant's Daughter & Other Stories. Wow, non-stop excitement from beginning to end, with a few great suprises, and Conan meets an old friend from a prior book, and some good villans. Conan wears many hats, so to speak, in this book, and covers great distances going from one city to another. I really liked that he meets an old friend from one of the older books, that was fun to me, and of course Conan ends up working for him once again. Can't say enough about this story, and definetely makes me want more. I feel Conan is really living on borrowed time, hanging by the skin of his teeth, by the end of this book. He has some really close calls in this book. The art was not very good, especially since it follows some great artwork in Iron Shadows In The Moon, so I docked it one star. The art looked rushed, like they were trying to get this to market very quickly. I hope Dark Horse either gives its illustrators more time to draw, or pick better illustrators, but the story was so great it more than make up for it, after all, we buy these books more for the stories, not so much for the pictures. Amazing, and a real enjoyment! Can't wait for the next one.

I Have liked all of Dark Horse's Conan series. But I have noticed the quality of art and writing Have dropped dramatically in recent Volumes. This volume is no exception. The art is Meh as is the writing. However it does pick up a bit in the next Volume (vol12). But drops drastically over a cliff in volume 13. Which in my opinion has the worst Conan art in the entire series!

I have been a fan of the REH series since a teenager and the Dark Horse graphic novel comics do it justice! I love the art and the inking - only complaint I have is that they don't make the series fast enough!
It's a collection of released Conan comics following several stories. The graphics are terrific and full color. I love this series and have all the previous volumes.
