I bought this book on recommendation from someone at a Good Teaching Conference. It's bright and interesting, and has more information about cows than you'd ever want to know! My third graders like it, and it's good to have more non fiction books that are written in a fun way.

One would expect modern books to be objective and truthful; this book, however, isn't any of these. From only one page I tead, the reader is lied to that cows and calves don't mind at all that humans drink their milk, when the calves are ripped away from the mother animal almost at birth! In our modern age we are sufficiently informed to have awareness that animals are even more sentient than humans are, yet we continue to subject them to barbaric slavery. Is this how merciless we as humans are, and have become - to not even care for the sacred bond between a mother and a child, irrespective of species?!

A magnificent book! A magical book! A fantastic book! This book will tickle the "funny bone" of any young reader (not to mention any adults in the neighborhood) and provide them with all the information they ever wanted to know about one of Mother Nature's most amazing creatures. Kids will howl and grown-ups will bellow with delight at each reading of this fabulous book. This book is just too good to miss!

i think that this book was good and my kids love it, but from what i've seen there's better out there. don't be fooled by all the pretty pictures. the informational content leaves a little something to be desired....

This is a very nice book, full of great images. I have to say however that something really bothers me : "cow" tells children that bulls have horns, and cows don't. And that is absolutly false ! I tell you, my cow Daisy is really mad at the author and illustrator !

Cow is a udderly wonderful book! Great to read with the whole family. The calves at my house read it over and over till the cow came home and that's no bull.
