She moved quickly through the trees, pushing branches out of her way and glancing behind her every so often, expecting Wayne or Axiom to be there. The moon peeked out through an opening in the trees. above, bright enough to illuminate her way across the uneven terrain. She had no idea where she was going. Wayne had followed her to the bathroom, but fortunately had not insisted on coming inside with her. He hadn't questioned the backpack she carried with her, but she'd had her menstruation story ready in case. Laurell pulled her jacket tighter.

As a war between good and evil is waged around her, Laurell Pittman succumbs to the Yearning and conceives a child with an immortal being so that she may give birth to the Earth Balancer, humankind's savior. Original.

I'm tired of women thinking simply because I'm going in for a cliche' erotica premise that it doesn't have to be good or unique. The characters, were flat and boring especially the heroine. I don't feel comfortable giving her the "weak" heroine title but she was annoying as all get out. Illogical and immature, but that's not her fault. It's the fault of the lazy writer, trying to stretch her plot into novel length--so we have to spend 30% of the book reading about how a) even though she believes all of this is true she'd rather DIE than have sex with this beautiful powerful man against her will b) but seeing as how she does believe why does she not believe that she DID agree to this in the middle life.

She's a woman that has only one friend in the whole world--and at first is very upset at this Axiom intrusion because's he's ruining her solitude and her quiet life, at first, but then 20 pages later she's feeling more alone than she has in her entire life--even though she's surrounded by a wonderful coven of folk--AND SHE HAD NO ONE TO BEGIN WITH.

AND THEN, in order to help her believe Axiom shows her a vision of the scary dark creatures that are here to take over the light which is why she needs to birth a balancer. She becomes terrified, which makes sense, tells Axiom she would never like to see those creatures---but then decides that she would rather run away and DIE at their hands before mating with Axiom. Then, she gets saved, by Axiom as she realizes she doesn't really wanna die (surprise, surprise)--but ten pages later one of her thoughts is... "maybe it would be better to mate with Axiom than to die at the hands of the Umbrae"

DUH!

Don't waste your money. Please, don't. There's so many decent novels out there, this one will just make you wish you got ice cream instead.

Laurel has been chosen as the mother of the Earth Balancer. Axiom is a God sent to Earth to father that child. Laurel at first doesn't believe Axiom. Axiom is fighting to hold back the darkness that resides in him. Laurel finally accepts becoming a mother and having sex with Axiom. Laurel becomes pregnant and the closer she gets to delivering the baby, the more Axiom becomes darker. The darkness inside him wants to kill the baby. He has to fight the darkness and the Umbrae to save his child and the woman he has fallen in love with. Need to read the story to find out what happens. Will Axiom kill his child? Will Laurel and Axiom have a future together? Will Axiom choose her and the child? Or will he leave for more power as a God?

I really enjoyed this book. It had a theme that was interesting, well worked, and made me want to keep reading. She had a little repetition that was annoying. Her grammar and her use of the correct tense of words could use some help. It distracts the reader and interrupts the flow of the book. I think as she grows, she is going to be a terrific writer with a huge following.

Have read many 'paranormal' stories but this one really was
Really spinechilling and actually makes you wonder "what if? Read it straight through. Lucky I'm a fast reader.

It was quite different from my usual read; however, it kept my attention. We deal with good and evil each day we are given.

A wonderful love story. I couldn't stop reading, yet I didn't want it to end... A very well told tale.

Between Light and Dark is an OK read. The storyline is good but a bit predictable. The characters are mostly 2-dimensional archetypes that grow a little more interesting & 3-dimensional near the end of the book. The main storyline involves a "grey god" who must father a remarkable child with a witch who must rediscover her witchy heritage and forgive her recently deceased mother for giving her a bad childhood. Extra characters are provided in a protective coven, a fractious council of gods & goddesses, and a nebulous group of evil "umbrae" who seek to stop the birth of the mystic child.
It was okay. I couldn't get into it at all. The characters were very bland no personality. There really was nothing to keep you engaged or intereted.
