Praise for Marshall's Soldier of the Legion Series. It's been a long wait for the second in this exciting series of sci-fi books. I must admit that the attraction for me is Marshall Thomas's writing style and story telling ability. This book picks up where the last left off, with the Legion facing a scourge that threatens all life forms throughout the universe - the Omnis. Once again, the action is heart pounding, the characters believable and well developed. This time, adding interest to the plot, the Legion juggles political intrigue and betrayal along with fighting the.

In the era of total galactic war, can one squad really make a difference? On a hostile planet, Legion trooper Thinker and his comrades of Squad Beta are ordered to assault the invading encampment of alien Omins. But the moment they are dropped into the atmosphere of Andrion 3, little goes as planned. The fate of ConFree, perhaps the whole of mankind, lies in their hands. To survive all they need do is destroy the Omni menace. The only problem---no one has ever defeated the Omnis. I read the whole series and it reads well at a fast pace. There are grammar issues all over and it repeats itself but its a fighter's novel so I was okay with that. What I could not get out of my head was how much current American politics was implanted in the story line. [Example: Good Lib = good liberal] After awhile it got offensive because the political undertone moving throughout the storyline was becoming more and more transparent and in the end I wondered if this was a sci fi story or more of a political statement. I guess there is a first for everything. So if you like the Tea Party and space war stories you will probably like it better then someone who isn't.

Unlike many series - where you really like the first book and the next one is disappointing - each book in this series captures your attention and makes you hope Thomas will keep writing more and more!

Just had to re-read them all - and found they contained so much more than I realized! Excellent - even for "non-sci-fi fans" - you will at least become a "Legion-fi fan"!

I liked the first book. Sort of repetitive and I wonder about the hero with three women he is so fascinated by yet claims one is the love of his life. Started the second book but I am getting completely fed up with everyone being insane and every engagement is an absolute no win and there is no chance of surviving. I'm about 40% into it and wonder if I should just quit now. Not sure I can take it for four more books.

Book had a great story line! I found the book both realistic and yet very enjoyable. I have read several books by Marshall S. Thomas and enjoyed them all!

I am annoyed that not all of them are available for my kindle.

The action is fast and furious and the characters are interesting, hard charging, and dedicated. The more I read, the more I like. I will definitely finish the series.
I am on book three now and buying the rest of the series tonight. Marshall S. Thomas has written this in the style of Robert A. Heinlein. I love it, when I start reading have to make myself stop.
