Convict Grade, a small town snuggled deep in the rugged mountains of Montana, attracts tourists and seekers of the supernatural due to local legends that tell how the entire town vanished a hundred years earlier. Unbeknownst to the townspeople and visitors who are gathering for the annual festival commemorating the events of that fateful day, an ancient, evil army is once again marshalling beneath their feet. Our story follows four teenagers as they come face to face with the demons that seek to destroy the town, throwing them into a desperate struggle for survival. Hammond, an abused teen with a troubled past, uses his hard-earned survival skills to protect his best friend, Tigger, and their unlikely companions: Sara, a popular cheerleader, and Bailey, a new girl in town, just recently arrived from Australia. Brought together by a strange, common dream, they discover friendship, strength, and love as they fight against the evil horde and uncover secrets from the past that will help them prepare for the final, decisive battle, and the fate that awaits them…
Contancia
If there were such a thing as "classy horror", Azrael Paul Damien has achieved it. Horror without vivid descriptions of bone crushing, flesh tearing violence would be like watching a war movie without gunfire, or a romance without a kiss. And so there is much violence in this book, which is true to the genre. But the mysterious Damien handles it with style - graphic but not vulgar - the language is surprisingly mild. And besides the horror, there is so much more. The work is diverse, with elements of adventure, comedy, tragedy, and romance. The character development is rich; the story compelling; and the plot is full of twists and turns - dragging you into a multi-dimensional chase through space and time to a destination which only becomes clear in the end. You find yourself attached to the characters - caught up in their plight, saddened by their tragedies, cheering their victories. This book will make you smile, and laugh, and cry, and sigh, and grimace. It will have you so scared you can't turn the page, but you will anyway, because you have to know what happens... and it will surprise you with every turn. If you're a horror fan, you will love it - if you're not, you may love it anyway. The horror scene hasn't seen anything this good in a long time!
