Hard to put the book down -just want to keep reading! As an avid western reader, Ralph Compton has become my favorite writer. The descriptions of western lands of Louis L'Amour and Zane Grey are the best but Ralph Compton's characters are more realistic and believable. I especially love the way he ties in/ references the history of west in his books.

I am a big fan of Ralph Compton's Westerns. I remember the first Ralph Compton Western I have ever read, "Dodge City Trail." I was hooked. Every time I walked into a bookstore, Wal-Mart or any other retail store, I always gravitated to the Western section looking for any new Ralph Compton books. And whenever there was of course I always bought it, and I have never been disappointed.
