Josiah Preston hadn’t needed to explain the meaning of fortune hunters to his daughter, because the truth was that she simply hadn’t fallen in love with any of them. In fact, Ruth was beginning to doubt if she would ever fall in love. Until she met Robert. Robert Davenport had joined Preston Pharmaceuticals from Roche via Johns Hopkins and Harvard Business School, on what Ruth’s father described as the fast track. In Ruth’s recollection, it was the nearest the old man had come to using a modern expression.

United in their rivalry, Sons of Fortune is the classic tale of two brothers engaged in a power struggle from international bestselling author, Jeffrey Archer. Nat leaves college at the University of Connecticut.

Jeffrey Archer was born on 15th of April in 1940 in city Mark. It was a clear story but sometimes confusing. Sons of fortune is one of the best Jeffrey Archer’s books. He was educated in Oxford at Wellington School and Brasenose Collage with well effects. He was keen on sport and represented Great Britain as a world-class sprinter. But he chose different kind of career – political one. He was elected a major of House of Commons and from this moment his life was changed. It is divided into seven parts and they are connected with each other very well. The novel has about 500 pages and there is a motive of the USA at the cover.

Once Fletcher had called Also Brubaker to confirm that he was willing to run, the party machine immediately swung behind him.

Bestselling author Jeffrey Archer returns with a powerful tale of twins separated by fate and reunited by desitiny. It is Hartford, Connecticut, in the late 1940's, and a set of twins is separated at birth by a desperate nurse. Nat Cartwright goes home with his parents, a schoolteacher and an insurance salesman. But his twin brother is to begin his days as Fletcher Andrew Davenport, son of a wealthy CEO and his society wife. During the years that follow, the two brothers grow up unaware of each other's existence. Nat leaves college at the University of Connecticut to serve in Vietnam. Returning a war hero, he finishes school and goes on to become a successful bank executive. Fletcher, meanwhile, has graduated from Yale University and distinguishes himself as a criminal defense lawyer before he is elected a senator. As their lives unfold, both men are confronted with tragedy and betrayal, loss and hardship, all the time overcoming life's obstacles to become the men they are destined to be. In the tradition of Jeffrey Archer's most popular books, SONS OF FORTUNE is as much a chronicle of a nation in transition as it is the story of the making of these two men - and how, eventually, they come to find each other...

Sons of Fortune was a slow reader for me. I don't know if its just me but I clearly had trouble keeping up w/the characters. When there are only few pages on one happening then moving onto another, its confusing. Its also a thought that it was such a long drawn out book, it could have been said in much shorter ways & the book might have been more interesting.
I have so enjoyed Jeffery Archer books & have read many but maybe I have read the best thus far.
Disappointed in this one.

the political intrigue so fashionable these days and the competition between the two brothers who ignore until the end how close they are but in spite of their political ambitions, they are GOOD GUYS. Wow, is that really still possible in this day and age of corruption and dirty wars? Looking forward for the second part,

Jeffrey Archer is one of our finest authors. In my opinion all his books are a must-read. For me it all started with Kane & Abel.

I chose to revisit my favorite author during the festive season in between my shifts as an ED Dr. The decision was the best I ever made. It deemed me rather antisocial as I was unable to do anything else in between. This was appropriate because I was home alone for the holidays. Could not out it down and read it in between 3 busy ED shifts!! JEFFREY Archer remains the best

Not only was the plot obvious from the first chapter -separated twins-but there was far too much boring detail about the US electoral system. This was not nearly as interesting as his usual books as it was so repetitive with election after election and was so predictable . It was disappointing. It tried to end with a cliffhanger but by then one had really lost interest.

The two main characters are very well developed. If only we had such honorable men to run the government's of the world . Very enjoyable.
This was a great read I thoroughly enjoyed it and I think you will too. Lots of twists and turns and a beautiful message about family.
