Destiny's Child book. I have enjoyed previous books by Barbara Bretton and already had this title in my stash-to-read so I thought I would give it a go. I was hoping that Ms. Bretton was just having a run of bad luck when she wrote the other book. Unfortunately, that was not the case. The third title in a time travel romance trilogy, this was worse than the second. Dakota Wylie is transpo You may have wondered why I read Destiny's Child since I did not rate it's predecessor, Tomorrow and Always, very high.

The Crosse Harbor Time Travel Trilogy Book 1 Somewhere in Time Book 2 Tomorrow & Always Book 3 Destiny's Child It's not every day a woman goes traveling through time. Dakota Wylie is a unemployed, overweight psychic librarian from Princeton. Patrick Devane is an angry, hard-headed spy with a six-year-old daughter who hears voices. The only thing they have in common is New Jersey.

Dakota didn't claim to understand men. But she did know that Patrick was stubborn and angry and that he refused to let anyone, including his young daughter, get close. No woman had ever challenged Patrick so brazenly, and no little girl had ever seemed so in need of a family. Now only time would tell if their destiny lay with each other.

Somewhere in time was the first book I ever read by Barbara Bretton and I absolutely loved it. I love time travel stories but hers are different then all the others I have read. As soon as I finished the first one I started reading the second one. I loved the deep love the couples shared, to give up everything they knew just to be together. I also liked the 3rd. one The deep hurt Patrick had gone through and then find a new love in Dacota and she found the family she always dreamed about. I also enjoyed so much reading about the struggle for Independence and that the story was in NJ. I just moved from NJ and lived outside of Trenton for more than 30 years and all the places and Towns where so familiar ,Especially Princeton and Philadelphia .I am looking forward to reading all of Barbara's books and have another favored Author where I haven't read all the books already except new releases.
I loved the first book in the series and couldn't wait to continue. the second book was okay for me, but not awesome. this was a fun story of Dakota finding her place in time. I had a hard time liking Patrick at first, but came to like him. Abigail, his daughter was an internal part of the story and i love how she captures Dakota's heart. I am left wondering if she ever gets to fulfill her dream of time travel also. I love seeing how women from our time period would try to fit in back in the 18th century. Their story takes place during the Revolutionary War and i usually find it hard to read about that time period, but Barbara Bretton makes it very exciting and easy to read. Very interesting how she entwined her characters together and how little things that ordinary families did during this period could make or break the outcome of the war. this book has adventure and excitement. was a fun read.
Number 3 in The Crosse Harbor Time Travel. Love, live, loved this spellbinding series. I did not want it to end. I could hardly put it down it was so good. Each book told a intriguing story and the last one, wrapped it all together. Barbara is a gifted storyteller and she has become one of my favorite authors. I have read several of her books and have loved every one.

Many thanks Barbara Bretton, never stop!

I started this book knowing it was part of a trilogy (I love the opportunity to carry "friends" over from story to story). It stands alone, as do all the books and I thoroughly enjoyed it. While the characters could possibly have been a bit better developed (as another review suggested), they still drew me in and made me feel part of the story. All characters introduced were lovingly described and I loved the interweaving of modern life and sensibilities with the amazing time in history when this country was struggling to be born.

Okay, so Patrick was a jerk to his child, but right away you knew why. Men aren't always the smartest about how to go about things, but he thought it was the best thing to save her.

Each book in this series is one that keeps you up until the wee hours of the morning, loathe to leave your friends and their story. The worst thing about all of these books is knowing the story will end and you have to say good bye.

Keep that balloon going Ms Bretton - PLEASE!!!
The end of a entertaining and enjoyable and interesting trilogy. I really enjoyed this series. Characters were very realistic. Great read!

Only one suggestion for the author and editor, the editing on this book was not done as well. All three had errors but this one more than the others. There were several types of mistakes throughout. Sorry but that stuff jumps out at me and breaks the flow. I'm not critiquing the book just the editing.
Gold as Heart
I very much enjoyed this series of time travel romances set in modern and early American times. Historical references to real personalities such as George Washington and descriptions of life in the Civil War period gave this series an element of authenticity that made it a little easier to suspend my disbelief in time travel for the reading of the books. (although, the method of travel (a hot air balloon) was an interesting choice!) Romance, heroes and heroines gave this and the other books in the series the necessary elements for a successful romance novel.

I liked the series very much and would recommend this and the other two books (Somewhere in Time, Tomorrow and Always) to any fans of romance and/or time travel. Destiny's Child is the third book - if you want to read in series, start with Somewhere in Time.
Mustard Forgotten
What a great book. I love this series and wish I had another one to read. Anyone who likes reading about adventure, a little history and the romance of it all really really needs to read this series BUT start from the beginning!!!!!
Historical viewpoints and strong women from the twentieth century make for a fantastic story and an entertaining read. For Shannon and Andrew, romance begins the journey where destiny leads as it was written in the historical records. For Dakota, she joins her friends only to find her destiny can only be found with a little girl who needs her and a man who must believe her...
