The BEST author out there for these types of stories. I was in USAF in the 70's and have worked on several Air Force and Navy planes as a civilian since getting out in 1981. I am familiar with some of the systems and weapons in the stories, Mr. Brown does a superb job at telling stories that are fast paced and hard to put down.

Just another of Brown's truly excellent Dreamland thrillers.
An easy read, difficult to put down.
Thank you Mr. Brown for another of your great tales.

First part about the latest in military technology. Specifically invention and testing. Then real application coupled with political constraints. An excellent read.

When I saw the paperback I checked my library which holds all of Dale Brown's work and I did not find it, so I bought it. As I read the book I soon relized I had read it before. I still read the book (again) and once more enjoyed it. If you like Dale Brown, Strike Zone is up to his normal standard. The theme is the tension between Taiwan and mainland China and the desire by some to start a war between China and the USA, which would leave China in a weakend or defeated state. China is not able to take Taiwan by force, especially with USA backing. Taiwan is not strong enough to take China in open warfare, but if the right people had the funding, and some nukes, and the right delivery system, and China were beat down by a war with the USA, that could kill a lot of people and upset the balance of power and bring down China. Of course, Dreamland gets the task of finding out what is going on, and then stopping it. It is no easy task for Dreamland and it is not without cost, but of course Dreamland saves the world again.

My only disappointment is that I can't find my original copy of Strike Zone, which is most likely a hard cover book.

Excellent read. You become a part of the Dreamland team sharing their successes and their frustrations. Military politics enters the scene causing ill feelings at all levels. It is 5AM, I just finished the book!!!

Otherwise why pay for them.
Nice to read something from Amazon that's been properly proof read. Then again it's not a unlimited book either.

I am reading all of Dale Brown , and Dale Brown with Jim De Felice fiction books. Most of Dale's books have some good war action packed parts of the storyy, or really are the main thrust and culmination of the thousands of words describing high tech implements of destruction used by special forces type groups.
This book broke away from that formula and was a collection of individual relationships and military maneuvering to go along with ad nauseum descriptions of weapons and their capabilites. The characters are still interesting to read about but the BIG BIG BIG war episode was missing and replaced by a couple smaller episodes of intense action, therefore less spectacular than most of his stories.
I think I am spoiled by some of his best efforts and this was not his best stuff.
Another great Dale Brown novel............
