Be careful! The cover of the second book is also on the third in this series on Amazon, and it is possible to read the third book before the second (since both have the same "Book II" cover). Read out of order (third book before second as I did because of the covers) takes a lot of the pleasure out of this series. Read in order, the story holds up very well after a fantastic first book in Dun's Lady Jess. What I like best is that Jess, as a human, longs to be back as Lady, her "real" horse self, and finds it perfectly natural to think and act as a horse, and yet... In this story she starts to get her human feet on the ground, so to speak.

The Changespell Saga offers a different twist on magic and on the relationships between people and horses. The plots are complex without being difficult to follow, the characters have depth. These are stories with deep emotional content. I am so happy to see that Ms. Durgin has reclaimed her rights to these books and made them available on kindle!

I love The Changespell Saga. Doranna Durgin writes a great story and finds new angles to keep her characters fresh. My only complaint is that the series has to end.

I never imagined I would really enjoy a book where the main character is horse that turns into a woman. That's pretty "Mr. Ed" when you think about it. However, the alternate world and the way they live seem plausible and interesting in all of these books.

Be sure and read this series in order. The first "prequel" could be left out, but gives some interesting detail and was an enjoyable read by itself. I plan to read more of Ms. Durgin's books.

The series has an interesting premise in the horse/girl transformation (and back and forth) and the development of her character and the worlds around her. It's good, and I'll read the third: it's enjoyable, but it's not gripping in the 'I can't put it down' way.

I love this series! Dun Lady's Jess took me into a world of magic and strong, complex characters. I was sorry to see the book end. Changespell did not disappoint. Jess, Carey, Dayna, Jaime, Arlen and others are further developed as the action sweeps forward in this thoroughly suspenseful book. Durgin is not afraid to make bad things happen to her characters or to force them to make hard choices. A compelling sequel to Dun Lady's Jess.

very enjoyable, Jess, the horse who was unexpectedly turned into a human, continues her adventures. The Author has really captured the feel of a horse struggling to think and fit into her human body. A wonderful world of magic and horses. The story can stand on its own, but it will be easier to understand if you start book 1 in the series, then I suggest you read all 4 books.

As hoped this is even better than the first book. The action is intriguing and the development of the characters pulls you right into the story. A great read.
A truly entertaining story with an unusual twist to its characters. It keeps you routing for the good guys & waiting impatiently to see what will happen next.
