Electronic Principles with Simulation CD. Albert Paul Malvin. Paul Malvino does a great job of making the difficult. simple to understand and comprehend.

Grob: Basic Electronics (Electronics Books Series). This book is an alternate method to that of Electric Design and Circuit Theory by Boylestad and I believe uses the better, quicker, and simpler method, that of approximations, in allowing understanding and calculation of circuit operation because with Boylestad's (Electric Design and Circuit Theory) you need Material data (Fact sheets) with the published operational information to make full and best use.

Electronic principles. by. Malvino, Albert Paul. Books for People with Print Disabilities. Internet Archive Books.

Electronic Principles by Malvino does a good job of explaining how different circuits work. It has extensive coverage of different types of op-amp circuits that is especially useful. I distinctly remembered this textbook from that era as one of the better books that I used on he subject matter.

Designed for use in courses such as electronic devices or electronic circuits, this edition features a new chapter on communication circuits, as well as performance objectives for each chapter. New material provides a stronger theoretical understanding of electronics. In addition, special sections called "T-shooters", designed to strengthen students' trouble-shooting skills, are included throughout the text. The content of the work has also been updated to keep coverage in step with the fast-changing world of electronics. Each chapter offers multi-level question groups oriented to theory, design and trouble-shooting. Additional higher-level problems are provided for students in advanced programmes.

Recently I began building little analog circuit devices as a hobby. I wanted to start learning how to analyze existing devices and learn how they work, as well as how to design my own circuits. I had taken an electronics lab as part of my undergraduate degree, and we used "The Art of Electronics" by Horowitz and Hill, which is a popular book, so I picked up a used copy.

Although Art of Electronics has lots of good stuff in it, it doesn't really explain how many of the circuits work. It's more of a recipe book. Electronic Principles by Malvino does a good job of explaining how different circuits work. It has extensive coverage of different types of op-amp circuits that is especially useful. As a sometime physics teacher, if I were going to teach an electronics lab I would probably recommend this book to my students as a supplement to whatever textbook the school decided they should use.

This is a really great book, everything is explained in a very relaxed and clear way. It really seems like the author is a great educator who wishes for the students to understand it as simple as possible. Yet that is also the downside of the book, its very simple, theres no calculus, the algebra needed is elementary, and math seem avoided whenever possible.

The great thing about this book is that it covers several useful (yet simple) applications, so it combined with a more rigourous and in depth book such as Sedra & Smith "Microelectronic circuits" which lacks applications but covers most of the technical and physical aspects needed to know about electronic devices, will give you a solid understanding regarding analog electronics.

I used an earlier version of this textbook as an undergraduate engineering major back in 79-82. I distinctly remembered this textbook from that era as one of the better books that I used on he subject matter.

I purchased this edition because of the right price and more importantly, because it provides a clear presentation of the fundamentals. The fundamentals do not change and Malvino is one of the best authors in presenting the basics.

Recommended for students who want to learn the basics. I also recommend the Malvino textbook on Digital Computer Electronics.

IGNORE THE STARS I SELECTED. I haven't read this book yet.

This is NOT basic electronics. It presupposes a good understanding of basic electronics.

I didn't know that when I bought it. Had I known that, I definitely would've started out with another book. Since I'm now working on that other book (Bernard Grob, Basic Electronics) I can't tell you more about this one yet.

Had used this book and this version back in the '80s when I was in college. Had since lost the book but was happy to find it here on Amazon and a the price I did ($0.01)!!! In fact, it arrived just in time for me to refer to it for a project I'd been contemplating. Although somewhat dated by today's standards, it still provides a wealth of theory for discrete semiconductor devices and circuits. A must-have for anyone working with discrete electronics devices. Also provides a concise basic electronics and electrical theory review. 5 stars for sure!!!

Electronic Principles, Second Edition, was my textbook in college in the late-70's/early 80's. It was great then, and it's great now. I updated my library with the Sixth Edition a few years ago and I feel just as rewarded as I had when I first learned the subject through the Second.
I design electronic circuits sporadically -- I'm mainly a programmer and writer by trade -- and I need periodic reminders of the theory and math involved in designing and solving circuits. Malvino was and continues to be my main source, along with The Art of Electronics by Horowitz and Hill and Calculus for Electronics by Richmond.
Thank you, Dr. Malvino!

Some of the Physics is not right, but still, it is a nice book.
This is a very good book for electronic student, been using in school for the past several years
