This is an interesting cookbook. It has short write –ups about the local cooks –the experts whose dishes disappear first at church and town suppers.
They give their recipes and all are the old fashioned New England food of years ago. There is strawberry pie and fudge and carrot cake. Recipes are made from scratch. Main dishes include hot chicken salad, skillet chicken tetrazzini, chicken pie, and baked stuffed haddock.
None of the recipes are that hard and if you want some old fashioned good food this is the book for you.
