Bastrop jehu Clovis Sensabaugh told them when his coach pulled into Deadwood and a helper was leading the team away. Do you mind coming with me for a few minutes?. Do you mind coming with me for a few minutes? gie seemed to know what was going on. That’s fine, Clo, DiNunzio said. We’ll be right behind yo. .Longarm took his cue from Noogie and tagged along with the driver to No. 10, the same saloon where James Butler Hickok had been murdered

Longarm and the Deadwood Shoot-Out. Longarm’s left fist shot out like the head of a snake and his knuckles smashed into the man’s nose, breaking it and sending him reeling backward. When the other two jumped forward, Longarm’s right hand crossed his belt buckle and snapped his Colt from its holster on his left hip. The gun came up and the two men dropped their knives in the dirt and fled. The man Longarm had smashed in the nose was cupping it with both hands, blood dripping between his fingers.

Stagecoach thieves are planning a twelve-gauge surprise…When hooded stagecoach robbers accidentally steal a strongbox containing U.S. mail along with their loot, they make the mistake of committing a federal crime—and tangling with U.S. Deputy Marshal Custis Long.   The robbers have a clear M.O.—always working as a pair, they hide their faces and do their talking only with their shotguns. With little to go on in terms of the thieves’ identity, Longarm follows a trail of clues to a Deadwood bordello, where he learns that a little pillow talk might just get a man killed…
I have been an enthusiastic fan of the continuing adult western tales of Custis Long, Deputy Federal Marshal for many years. Longarm (411) and the Deadwood Shoot-out we find our favorite Federal deputy investigating a stage coach robbery crew. Even though the robberies were not a Federal crime in the past, the last time some letters were also enclosed with the cash and this brought down vengeance in the form of Custis Long. There are various twists and turns as Deputy Long seems to keep coming up empty in his investigation. In between time he is enjoying himself with good food, good Rye and numerous willing ladies.

Like all Longarm adult western novels, this one has plenty of action, which includes fist fights, shoot-outs and a whole lot of passionate lust. I also love this writer's style (Tabor Evans is numerous different writers) of very short chapters which makes it a real page turner. I love reading short chapter books rather than long boring chapters when it comes to western novels. If you are a Longarm fan you should check out this book. If you have never read any Custis Long books, this is a good one you may want to read.

Longarm gets sent to Dakota Territory to find out who is robbing stagecoaches of strongboxes containing the shipment of bank moneyThere doesn't seem to be any idea of who the robbers are and surprisingly, they just want the money without killing anyone. The story is very simple and moves between three places in Dakota Territory,Lead,Miles City and Deadwood.Although there is not much in the way of Old West descriptions or expressions, there is quite a bit about the touns, thebanks saloons and ,houses of ill repute. There are a lot of characters ,but some, particularly lawmen, not like you'd expect in this area.I must admit,I kept thinking about how Deadwood was portrayed in the TV series "Deadwood";but it didn't seem like the same place.
There is quite a surprise as to who the robbers were.I am not a fan of mystery or whodunits but I actually figured out who they were.;maybe you will too.
